Artist Deborah McQueen Coder


​Deborah McQueen Coder is a studio and fiber artist based in Coon Rapids, Minnesota.  She graduated from Troy (State) University, receiving a B.A. with a focus on studio art in 1983.  Since 1985, her commissioned paintings and drawings are in private collections in Germany and throughout the United States.  Deborah’s current textile work includes painting handwoven fabric, and tapestry weaving using her hand carded, handspun wool yarn.  Since becoming a vendor with studio space at Anoka Fiber Works in 2017, she teaches technique-based knitting classes, beginning rug-hooking, button-making.  Deborah is a member of the Plein Air Club through the Rumriver Art Center in Anoka and the Rum River Handweavers Guild in Coon Rapids.  Deborah is passionate about living a creative life, continually learning and challenging herself to grow as an artist.
